Welcome to my portfolio
I believe in the profession of journalism. I'm in this business because I want to tell stories that make a difference. I've covered mine subsidence in southern Illinois, domestic violence prevention in Missouri's capital and Sacagawea's legacy in suburban Kansas City. I'm the first out the door when news breaks on the scanner.
But journalism isn't always about breaking the big story. It's also about getting people the news they need for their lives. That means delivering the news the way the audience wants it. I'm a true multi-platform journalist that can tell a story for print, broadcast or online. I'm comfortable with social media and able to report a story continuously from beginning to end. I know what it takes to put a paper to bed on time. And when it's time to go live, I can do that, too.
My interest in journalism has taken me across the world, from Columbia, Missouri, to Beijing, China, and London, England – and back home to the town where I grew up. I'm a true community journalist who can adapt my skills for any newsroom.
